2ND STORY IS NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS.

First, thank you for your interest in 2nd Story. We are so grateful when folks are curious about and willing to dive into our particular kind of storytelling. 

Unfortunately, 2nd Story is not currently accepting general submissions for the 2024-2025 season.

We made this decision for a handful of reasons:

• After reaching a milestone 25th anniversary year we are currently restructuring our artistic company. Our new structure will better reflect the talents and interests of our artists, better meet the changing needs of our growing organization, and will better support the artistic process as a whole.

• 2nd Story is currently engaged in the process of onboarding a brand new Managing Director. 

• The past few years of submissions have illuminated a difficult problem - we no longer produce the volume of programming that we did pre-pandemic. This means that we simply don’t have the same number of storyteller opportunities available.

• A submissions pause allows us the time and spaciousness to re-craft our submissions process. We are always striving to be an organization that cares for its people, and so we are using this time to re-imagine how we can best care for new storytellers. 

If you would like to get involved with 2nd Story in the meantime, we strongly encourage you to check out a class or attend a show!

We intend to begin inviting submissions again for Season 27, and the best way to look out for that announcement is to either sign up for our email list or follow us on instagram (@2ndstorychicago.) All programming opportunities are announced in both places.
