Workshop Information

This three hour workshop, led by 2nd Story’s own Artistic Director, kicks off with 2nd Story-style brainstorming and story sharing, and move through the beginning steps of getting your own real-life story on the page. This is a chance to get a feel for our process and learn more about the educational programming 2nd Story offers!

No need to bring samples or anything you’ve written previously.


What to Expect:

2nd Story Headquarters is located at the corner of Lawrence and Sacramento. Please know this is a new location; we moved in November 2016. We're pleased to announce the new place is fully ADA accessible. There is plenty of street parking and is very close to both the Francisco Brown Line and the 81 Bus Line off Sacramento.

Amanda Delheimer Dimond

Amanda Delheimer Dimond is a a director, movement director, teaching artist, and playwright who believes that people coming together to tell and bear witness to stories has the power to change the world. After completing her Master’s in Theater and Spanish at the University of Chicago in 1999, Amanda worked in Los Angeles and Mexico before returning home to Chicago. She has served as the Artistic Director of 2nd Story since 2007, and is also an Ensemble Member with Lifeline Theatre. When she’s not running 2nd Story or making plays at Lifeline, Amanda spends her time working as a Strategic Planning Consultant with Lookingglass Theatre Company and directing the Goodman’s summer program for teens. She was an inaugural recipient of the Leadership U: One-on-One Fellowship, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by the Theatre Communications Group. She is also in the inaugural artEquity Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Facilitator cohort, funded by the Mellon Foundation and hosted by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
