Reshmi Hazra Rustebakke

Reshmi¬†Rustebakke holds an MFA in Directing from DePaul University, as well as BFA from Tisch School of the Arts in Drama. She has worked primarily in new play development. Recent projects include CHOOSING TO BE HERE: A STORYTELLING FESTIVAL, with Side Project, BASTARDS in Reykjavik, Iceland with Vesturport; THE PENTAEON at Fox Valley Rep; Ignition festival at Victory Gardens. Some favorite projects include VENUS by Suzan-Lori Parks, NORMAL by Anthony Neilson, INKY by Rinne Groff, MONSTER by Neal Bell, SUNSET PARTY by Cory Conley, HAZEL WARRIOR PRINCESS by Derya Derman, WHAT WILL I DO WHEN YOU’RE GONE? by Neal Bell, THE MIGRATION by Matthew K. Johnson . She was also the recipient of the Robert Moss Directing Residency at Playwrights Horizons Theater Company 2007-2008, as well as the Artist of Color Fellowship at New York Theatre Workshop 2008-2009. Upcoming, she will be working with Victory Gardens, Chicago Shakes, Erasing the Distance, and Next Theatre Company.
