Jennifer Thom

Jennifer Thom is a librarian, grant writer, project manager, and the Director of Digital Initiatives and Services at the Newberry Library in Chicago. At work, she loves spreadsheets and keeping people and projects on track. At home, she’s never reconciled a checkbook in her life and refuses to put her library in any kind of order. Jennifer loves shoes, music, cooking, sewing, eating strange things in strange lands, beating you at board games, reading in bars, and leaving anonymous copies of her short stories on the CTA and in the Free Library Box on Chicago Avenue. She participated in last year’s Choosing to Be Here storytelling festival at the Side Project. After enjoying 2nd Story events for years and learning lots through 2nd Story classes, Jennifer is honored to join the board and work with such talented people to help make the magic happen.
