Jeffery Levin

Jeffrey Levin (Sound Designer / Composer) is a composer, sound designer, and musician based in Chicago IL. Jeffrey has contributed original music and sound designs for over 70 productions for various theaters in and outside of Chicago. He has collaborated with Steppenwolf, Strawdog, A Red Orchid, Oracle, Cor Theatre (Company Member), Windy City Playhouse, Emerald City, Albany Park Theatre Project, Stage Left, TUTA, Step Up Productions, Dead Writers Theatre, Chicago Commercial Collective, Chicago Fringe Opera, Collaboraction, ChiArts High School, and Columbia College. He was awarded the Edes Award for Emerging Artists that funds an ongoing collaboration with the storytelling artist collective The LIVINGroom providing live and pre-recorded music and sound design for autobiographical stories written and performed by members of The LIVINGroom. In addition to the Edes Award, other awards and Recognitions include a Joseph Jefferson Award for Sound Design of THE HAIRY APE at Oracle Theatre along with three other Jeff Award nominations for Sound Design and Original Music, the Michael Philippi prize for best professional exhibit (2016), Kleinman Composition Competition for his original work for Clarinet and Electronics, TimeOut Theatre Award nomination, and a Wilde Award Nomination. Jeffrey received his Masters of Music in Composition at DePaul University and Bachelors of Music in Composition at Columbia College Chicago.
