Celebrating our 25th Anniversary means that we achieved what we set out to do specifically when we re-envisioned our mission, vision, and values about 10ish years ago—which was to make a real impact and connection to the people in our community.

We’re finally old enough to rent a car! LOL! It means that we have survived ups and downs and changes for literally longer than some of our audience has been alive.

Any arts organization that is still around after 25 years is doing something right. But the celebration of 2nd Story’s 25th goes beyond that - it honors how we have grown, changed, and adapted. We continue to thrive and have become a leader in the Chicago art-making landscape.
— Julie Ganey, 2nd Story Company Member since 2008
A short and incomplete list of things whose lifespan 2nd Story has surpassed: The Beatles, The Clash, Led Zeppelin, the career of all-time NBA seasons played leader Vince Carter, both iterations of the Oakland Raiders football team, the Saturn car company, the iPod, the mayoral tenures of both Richard J. and Richard M. Daley, the Miles Davis Quintet, and the entirety of the Godfather trilogy. Does this make 2nd Story better than those things? Perhaps, but regardless: watch your back, Star Wars.
